The three-day event dedicated to the presentation of the Guide to Sicilian Wines has concluded. The exhibition, held at the Poggio del Sole Resort in Ragusa, hosted talks, masterclasses, and tasting counters for the island’s wines.
Totò Navarra Jr. had the honor of participating in the presentation conference for the AIS Sicily Wine Guide, “Present and Future of Cerasuolo di Vittoria”, a round table moderated by Luigi Salvo – Head of AIS Sicily Tasters and AIS Palermo Delegate – which featured contributions from Institutions, AIS Sicily Representatives, Representatives of the Protection Consortium, and the South East Sicily Regional Wine Shop.
This was a stimulating opportunity to delve into topics concerning Sicily’s only DOCG.
During the exhibition, Tenute Navarra participated not only with a tasting counter in the Resort’s Maestrale Hall but also in two masterclasses led by expert sommeliers, titled “The Sparkling Wines of the Iblean Territory” and “The Territories of Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG”, featuring Rosemosse 2023 – Extra Brut Frappato Rosato Terre Siciliane IGP Sparkling Wine and Maribu 2022 – Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG.
But that’s not all; Tenute Navarra was also included in the Vitae 2025 Guide, the renowned annual publication curated by the Italian Sommelier Association (AIS), dedicated to promoting Italian wine.
Specifically, at the conclusion of the day on January 25, at the Church of San Vincenzo Ferreri in Ragusa Ibla, the wine Battichiè – Nero d’Avola Riserva del Fondatore 2020 – received the highest recognition, FOUR VINES, which denotes wines with an excellent stylistic and organoleptic profile, scoring 91/100.
Also reviewed in the Vitae 2025 Guide, receiving THREE VINES, an award reserved for wines with scores between 85 and 89.9 points, were Maribu 2022 – Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG, Zahr 2023 – Bianco Frizzante Terre Siciliane IGP, Rosemosse 2023 – Spumante Extra Brut Frappato Rosato Terre Siciliane IGP – Scurò 2022 – Nero d’Avola Sicilia DOC.
“It is with great emotion and pride that we receive recognition for our wines, which attest to the excellence of our products. They represent not only a personal achievement but also an acknowledgment of all the hard work and passion that our Team dedicates every day to our land and our vineyards. I wish to thank everyone who contributed to this success: from my family to our collaborators, and our supportive customers. These accolades motivate us to continue working with passion and dedication, to carry forward the Sicilian winemaking tradition and offer wines of ever-superior quality,” – states Totò Navarra Jr. – Administrator of Tenute Navarra.
The year 2025 has started with great success for the Butera agricultural company, which, among others, has been included in the “Guida Oro – I Vini di Veronelli 2025,” the “Guida BIO 2025,” and the “I Migliori dei Migliori Vini Italiani 2025” guide.
“Being present at the prestigious presentation of the Guide to Sicilian Wines is a moment of great significance for us at Tenute Navarra. This exhibition not only celebrates the quality of Sicilian wines but also represents an important opportunity for discussion and growth for the entire wine sector. The recognitions we achieve motivate and stimulate us to continue innovating and maintaining high quality standards, thereby contributing to the growth and spread of Sicilian wine’s reputation on the international stage. Furthermore, on these occasions, our mission is clear: we want to build solid and lasting relationships with our customers and partners. Their trust is fundamental to our success and drives us to pursue excellence in every bottle we produce,” – affirmed Salvatore Navarra, Business Relationship Manager of Tenute Navarra.
