A very young agricultural entrepreneur (born in 2000), a scion of a family of experts when it comes to managerial experience, and the first generation in the
sector you’ve decided to venture into. Tell us about this dual role you embody: on one hand, carrying on the legacy of the ‘third generation,’ and on the other, being the first generation to focus on wine and more.
I am truly fortunate to have been born into a family where work has always been an important virtue, which over time has transformed into extensive managerial experience. I owe a great deal to my family, who raised me with the values of hard work and sacrifice. If today we can speak of ‘managerial experience,’ it is thanks to my grandfather Totò, who rolled up his sleeves for the biggest gamble he could take with himself, and to my father, who, following in his footsteps, has dedicated and continues to dedicate his life to pursuing the path of ‘entrepreneurial creativity,’ striving for excellence every day.
This is also a significant challenge for me, as the first generation in the world of agricultural businesses. Given my young age and the intrinsic managerial background I possess, I intend, with great humility and even in my small way, to develop it further. Wine, olive oil, and almonds are all products that must be respected and enhanced to the best of our ability, increasingly pursuing criteria and techniques that are as sustainable as possible from every point of view.
Tell us about Tenute Navarra: from acquisition to project; from its current status to future prospects.
The Tenute Navarra project originated from the dream of its Founder, my grandfather Totò, who, upon retiring, decided to dedicate himself to country life and return to his roots, rediscovering his origins. In 2019, we acquired an estate of approximately 200 hectares that had been abandoned for almost 30 years, and it was there that the dream began.
We immediately began to restore existing crops where possible and to plant new ones, from vines to olive trees to almond trees, while also maintaining wooded areas in line with the principles of environmental sustainability (and more) that we fully embrace.
The first harvest dates back to 2019, consisting of Nero D’Avola (our historic vineyard of about 30 years located in Contrada Iudeca), from which Battichiè – Riserva del Fondatore, our iconic reference that tells the story of Grandfather Totò, would take shape.
From there, wine production also began, which today consists of 7 references, along with a niche production of olive oil.
We are preparing to welcome the almond supply chain for production, and a quality resort where guests can enjoy the best moments in contact with nature, far from the hectic city life.

How did you get into the world of wine?
It was a natural progression; in my family, there has always been an interest and curiosity for good wine and wine culture in general. Over the years, this interest and curiosity have transformed into a great passion, and today, a deep respect and love for the nature we care for, our work, and our products, which we nurture to the best of our abilities.
I found the art of tasting and discovering new flavors fascinating, learning to distinguish the aromas and characteristics of different grape varieties.
How is your ‘typical day’ structured when you are at the estate?
I balance study and work. I am enrolled in the Bachelor’s degree program in Economics and Business Administration, and I dedicate my mornings to working at the Estate. In the countryside, you wake up early, and life has a completely different flavor—one of authenticity and simplicity. I spend my mornings assisting my grandfather at our Butera Estate, supporting him and coordinating production activities. In the afternoon, I focus on administrative tasks, which vary widely depending on the time of year.
Being so young and choosing to collaborate with a team of young people, what does that represent for you? How would you describe – from the insid e, since you are fully a part of it – ‘Generation Z’?
Being young and working with a team of young people represents a great opportunity for me. It means we have a fresh and innovative perspective to offer, along with the energy and determination to make a difference. As part of Generation Z, I can

affirm that we are change-oriented, open to new ideas and emerging technologies. We are accustomed to a constantly evolving digital world and are adept at adapting to rapid changes.
Our young age allows us to have a more immediate connection with current trends, challenges, and the expectations of young people, enabling us to offer innovative solutions and ideas. Furthermore, being young gives us contagious energy and passion that drives us to achieve our goals with enthusiasm and determination.
Which wine from your production are you most connected to, and why?
The wine I am most connected to is Battichiè – Riserva del Fondatore. This strong bond stems from the deep affection I hold for my grandfather, who inspired this wine.
Battichiè, in fact, tells the story of my grandfather Totò and his origins; the name chosen for the label is inspired by the lullaby his mother sang to him when he was a child—a sweet yet firm and confident sound that accompanied him throughout his life.
It is a full-bodied and elegant wine, with typical fruity notes of red mulberry and cherry, and varied aromas reminiscent of vanilla and chocolate.
