Art Line

Conceived by Totò Navarra and the oenologist Tonino Guzzo, ripened in the sun of the hills in the center of Sicily, and aged in wood and bottles for twenty-four months.
It is a full-bodied and elegant wine, with typical fruity notes of red mulberry and cherry, florals from imperial geranium, and spicy notes, with varied aromas reminiscent of vanilla and dark chocolate.
The taste is dry, soft, and fleshy like a ripe fruit, with a tannin-kind balance.
Riccardo Guasco, the illustrator of the label, has interpreted, with the wise and deep gaze that made him famous, the strong connection between Totò and his land.
Battichiè is a Sicilian term that refers to a lullaby, a rhyme, that Toto’s mother used to sing to him when he was a child, a sweet yet strong and confident sound that has guided him all his life.

Soil composition: Medium consistency and tendentially clayey soil with properly balanced alcalinity.

Planting year: 1998
Weather condition: Rainy and cold winter, mild spring, and one among the coolest summer in recent years, have allowed to obtain grapes and wines characterized by finesse and elegance, while maintaining a good concentration and power.
Harvest:Manual Harvest started on the 16th September.
Winemaking: Fermentation in macerated skin for 15 days.
Temperature fermentation: 24/26° C – 75,2/78,8° F
Malolactic fermentation: Totally completed
Aging: After racking , the wine is left to rest in vats for at least 6 months, then the wine started its aging in new French oak barrels for 12 months , after that is left for 6 months in vats before the bottling phase, it ends its ageing time in bottle for 6/8 months before its commerce release.
Serving Temperature: 18° C – 64,4° F
Alcohol content: 14% vol.
