Scurò takes its name from the exact moment the sun sets and gives way to night. A precise image that perfectly describes the character of this Nero d’Avola: deep, enveloping, capable of holding both light and darkness simultaneously.
It is a wine that interprets the grape variety in a direct and contemporary way, without excesses. Stainless steel vinification preserves the freshness and identity of Nero d’Avola, while a brief passage in third-use barriques adds complexity without overpowering the fruit.
A precise stylistic choice: to enhance the grape variety, not transform it.
Packaging: 750ml bottles are shipped in cardboard packaging.

On the nose, it is rich and enveloping, with ripe red fruits — cherry, plum and blackberry — unfolding alongside sweet hints of vanilla, cocoa and spices, while the fruit remains at the forefront. On the palate, it is full-bodied and structured, with soft, well-integrated tannins that support a generous and persistent finish.
Scurò originates from two districts of the estate — Judeca and San Giacomo — where Nero d’Avola thrives on different soils that work in synergy. The clay-rich soils of Judeca provide structure and depth, while the sandy soils of San Giacomo add freshness and aromatic precision. The south/south-west exposure, at an altitude of 350–400 metres above sea level, maximises grape ripening during Butera’s dry summers, giving the wine all the concentration and warmth of its terroir.
6 months in third-use oak barriques, 6 months in stainless steel tanks, followed by 5 months in bottle.
